Tuesday 5th September. Algorta old port with Mary. That's the Basque flag that I'm flying. The book says to be safe, fly this flag or if you must fly the Spanish flag definitely don't fly it over the Basque flag. ReplyDeleteWas amazed when I heard you had sailed some (?most) of that last leg. Is that why the route goes a little zigzaggy? Were you 'tacking' (conjures up alarming memories of crossing over that time back from Rotterdam!🤢🤮🤮to the nth degree!
ReplyDeleteYes, and it was nearly as arduous as that Rotterdam crossing, my automatic tiller pilot went on the blink, that's £500 and it's only 18 months old. My bow spent so much time buried in waves that my nav lights packed up. I can't blame the forecast, it was spot on, it just didn't account for my wishful thinking that it might not be so bad.
