Friday 26th January. Staying here in Faro.
Nomad. Happy at anchor.
Change of mind. I enjoyed the row ashore yesterday evening, good exercise. Rowing because the outboard needs attention, it has petrol coming out where it shouldn't.
I'll stay in Faro awhile. The next good forecast for crossing the bay of Cadiz is Wed/Thur and the Gibraltar straits Sat/Sun. That's the plan.
The weather is incredible, it's 21c here, 28c in Valencia.
The big white birds that I saw on the shore coming in weren't storks, I don't know what they were, these are storks, there's loads of them here in the town centre.
More storks. Sometimes they make a click clucking sound like the zombies in World War Z.
Quite large birds - similar to a heron but different colour scheme I guess. Oranges on trees in January - amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou did the right thing buying your oranges in the supermarket. The ones growing on the trees are lovely looking but not good to eat. They are bitter (like Seville oranges).
ReplyDeleteWell, that narrowed it down. 'Anonymous' can only be you Mary!
ReplyDeleteLovely weather here in the UK. Blue sky at last. Dinna care how cold it is!
Yes, it was anonymous me, Mary. Don´t know why my name didn´t come out.
ReplyDeleteBrendan, when you row ashore, where do you tie up safely? I mean to make sure no one steals the dinghy?
Funny you should ask that. I'm just about to write about it in tomorrow's blog.
