Monday 4th September. Arriving Bilbao.
Tuesday 5th September. Algorta old port with Mary.
That's the Basque flag that I'm flying. The book says to be safe, fly this flag or if you must fly the Spanish flag definitely don't fly it over the Basque flag. But look...,
It seems I have strayed into some kind of falangist, maybe neo fascist marina. But I'm getting 14 nights for 150 euros, so that's ok.
8th September. Sisters.
Well done Bren! That was quite a hop.
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't end up joining the other wrecks on the sea bed in the dreaded BOB. Not that I'm calling Nomad a wreck in any way.....😉
Is that you Carmel?
DeleteExcellent Brendan. You'll be able to practice the Spanish you learnt earlier in the year!
ReplyDeleteUna cerveza por favor 😁
Countless hours I spent learning Spanish with Duolingo. I think I can remember about five words and you've just named four of them.
DeleteBrendan call into Llanes up the coast from Bilbao. Good spot. Paul Mc
ReplyDeleteI agree, Paul. Pat and I stayed at that port years ago. I think we tied up next to the fishing boats in those days, but there will probably be berths now. Lovely little port and lots of good Asturian cider, a speciality of the area.
ReplyDeleteBrendan arrived perfectly in Bilbao´s Maritime sailing club. It was hot, 35º. After his shower and change of clothes we met up for drinks (and a well-deserved rest for him).
Yes - the first Anonymous was me. Hope this corrects it from hereonin.
ReplyDeleteI recognise those steps! (Sure dad would too if he were still here)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a communist/populist nightly rate anyway (P.S. I know next to nothing about Spanish politics)......your West Cork correspondent.
