Saturday 27th January. Olhao - pronounced Oh-lee-ou as in ouch.

Olhao. A big town I had never heard of right next to Faro. Today is market day and I dashed to get ashore before it closed. The steps in the photo are the only place to land in a dinghy and the slipway is covered in green slime that it is Impossible to stand up on so I gave onlookers something to see and walked around town with a green arse. I wedged the rope into a crack in the wall as there were no tying up points and left it there for a couple of hours. I'm not worried about it being taken when there are so many people around.

  1. I'm sure I've been there at some point.... but so long ago it could be a figment of my imagination.
Looks lovely at any rate: a far cry from the leaden grey morning skies here.
    Enjoy!

  2. A market? Lovely. Anything interesting to buy? Glad you're eating oranges and getting your Vit C.
Not that you're likely to get scurvy...
I'm sure you can buy lovely fresh local produce....
