The island of Berlenga. Photo taken from Peniche lighthouse. Apparently there is a beautiful anchorage on this island, I wish I had time to explore. Peniche is also a very nice place and I would like to stay longer (not least because the monthly rate works out at 5 euros per night and that includes electricity). But I have early morning flights to get from Lisbon and the bus service from here doesn't leave early enough. I have to leave tomorrow, it's the only favourable day on the forecast.
I really hope it was a natural death & not needless waste. Poor fishy.
ReplyDeleteJust reading about a load of pensioners injured by sea conditions whilst on their SAGA cruise off that coast. You were lucky to be in Zurich and not attempting to sail these past weeks.

I doubt it was thrown back, it was about four feet long and would have been worth a lot of money.

DeleteI know it's a ridiculous waste, but maybe the boat which caught/hit the tuna had already exceeded their quota for tuna, and had to dump it ? (Steve)
