Tuesday 31st October. Combarra. Drying out.
The forecast is rubbish for the next few days so I will stay here awhile. The marina lady told me that while I was away the spring tide, low pressure and storm swell combined to overtop the walls and flood the old town. Buildings and structures around the marina have been damaged by the pontoons rising so high. I missed the excitement.
Drying out.
You were lucky with your timing. It was pretty nasty back home with storm Babet (I am sure it should be Babette though) as well. I think we have a new one this week Ciaran. The never ending doom and gloom of British weather.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good time on your little jaunt to see Margaux.
and something else I didn't mention. The sediment in my water tanks was stirred up, that's only happened once before on a particularly rough passage and I'm not even at sea here. It must have been like being in a carwash. Ciaran arrives here this afternoon Jules, so it might be more of the same.
DeleteJazz at the Plough tomorrow night. Think I might give it a miss as I'll probably need a canoe to get there. Stay safe.
