Cabo de Ortegal. These cliffs are huge. There's a lighthouse in there somewhere,  dwarfed.
Goodbye Cabo de Ortegal, the western limit of the Bay of Biscay.
Lighthouse.
The lighthouses here aren't very impressive. I suppose they don't need to build them tall as they have hundreds of feet of granite cliff under them already and they can't put them up higher as they'd spend most of their time in the clouds.

    Lovely photos of this beautiful area, Brendan. You are right about the dwarfed lighthouse.
    At the risk of sounding spooky, you are approaching the Costa Da Morte (death coast) of Galicia, named thus for all the storms and shipwrecks that have occurred over the years with huge loss of life. In fact, you will probably see the many crosses placed along the cliffs to commemorate the victims. Must be very sobering to sail these waters.

    I'll just catch the edge of Agnes Steve, so a few nice days here in A Coruña but you're really going to cop it if the weather chart is right. Gusting 60 knots?

      Yes looks like it, was 70 a day or two ago but now forecast is for 60 mph. Staying in tmrw looks like !

Tuesday 5th September. Algorta old port with Mary. That's the Basque flag that I'm flying.
